Douglas Fir Den
Inspiration
The Douglas Fir is the most important tree of the Pacific Northwest. It's only fitting that we name the primary bedroom after it. This room is our largest bedroom, and the Douglas Firs can grow to the be the tallest trees in the world.
The dark green accent wall, and artwork of sketched images of a Douglas Fir and pinecone are a tribute to the tree. Across the width of the room on both sides is the dark stained wood beam, which is made from Douglas Fir as well. On top of the bed is an angled window for viewing of the tree canopy above.
In the room, the dedicated workstation features an almost 100-year old vintage desk originally owned by the architect of the Alderbrook Resort & Spa - a Washington state institution located on the hood canal. The room also features a large window for great natural light. The door leads to a private balcony with a small seating area including two chairs and side table. This overlooks the front of the property and the hot tub area.
