Morel Manor

Inspiration

It's no secret that the Pacific Northwest is a mushroom paradise. The dense forest around the cabin is the perfect habitat for mushrooms to grow and there are dozens of varieties in the area. Since mushrooms (and in general, fungi) are so important to the ecosystem and especially the local area, we wanted to showcase their unique beauty.

Late spring, we found Morel mushrooms in the area and thought they'd be the perfect namesake for this room. Morels, like many mushrooms, grow in groups and this bedroom would have two beds for the perfect cabin sleepover setup. The most notable part of this room is the accent wall with unique wallpaper detailing mushrooms, insects, fruits, and other plants. It's a whimsical detail that reinforces the area.

Some details that we love about this room are the windows offer great view of the forest and tree canopy, as well as the dark stained wood beam. There is a seating area with a small side table, and cedar trim throughout. We also love the alliteration that comes with Morel Manor.
