Stellar Jay's Nest

Inspiration

Stellar's Jay is a bird that's related to the Blue Jay and found throughout much of Western North America. The Stellar's Jay thrives in dense coniferous woods of the mountains of the Northwest - exactly like the environment that Fenhaus Mt. Rainier is located. The bird has beautiful, dark blue coloring which is intended to help them blend in with the shadows of the forests. We often see them around the cabin and thought they were the perfect inspiration.

The wallpaper is inspired by the dark blue of the Stellar Jay's feathers, and the tartan pattern is a reminder of vintage designs. The wallpaper is complimented with cedar trim that is stained a deep brown, and a dark wood headboard that offers an overall dark and moody aesthetic. To offer balance, the nightstands, bedding, and bedside lights are all white to brighten up the room.

One unique feature we love about this room is the wide window that runs almost the full length of the room to offer beautiful views of the forest just outside. If you look closely, you'll notice a bird feeder that we installed - and hopefully you'll be able to catch a glimpse of the Stellar's Jay outside.
